You are under attack and I am not talking about Muslim fundamentalists. Government, both national and local are gunning for you because they know you will just say 'Mustn't grumble' and roll over and let them trample you into the dust.

Our sheep like mentality has allowed all the powers that be ride roughshod over all aspects of our lives and we are just accepting it like some initiation ceremony, where we are beaten and we say 'Thank you sir may we have some more'.

The Labour government will not increase your taxes because that will make you not vote for them, but there are many other ways they have devised to relieve you of your hard earned cash and the environment and global warming is going to be the latest wheeze to swell their coffers. What a brilliant wheeze it is too; it is saving our planet, who can reasonably argue against it without appearing as a person who doesn't care, the fact that their science may be flawed or their statistics may be slewed doesn't count. If you oppose these taxes you are a heartless callous bastard who doesn't care about global warming and the harm it will do to us. It is even better than putting up the National Insurance contributions under the guise that it is paying for hospitals and pensions because it has a global dimension, improving the condition of the whole of mankind.

Increasing taxes is much better than looking at the waste that the government generates, from the software companies they employ who go hopelessly over budget and still fail to deliver a working solution to the offices that burn electricity like ten pound notes, to the waste generated by the personal drivers and extra security cars for the ministers.

Another neat idea of the Scottish chancellor was to realise that humans are, well, human. Nearly everybody adheres to the big laws, like murder, rape, burglary, armed robbery etc., but not the small laws. This starts at petty theft like taking a paper clip or envelope from the office and escalates up to breaking the speed limit occasionally and more. A really good tax idea is to bring in fixed penalty notices which chastises us for these minor infractions whilst swelling the governments bank balance to an amazing degree. You cannot argue, you have transgressed the law and those who have not been caught yet will shake their heads and say it is just what you deserve, never mind that it is a blip in your normal behaviour, a temporary slip from grace or just normal human behaviour.

The government or perhaps Gordon Brown, finds that this a really good way to get more money and so increase the ways of introducing more and more fixed penalties for a wider variety of human frailties. It is not debated in parliament, no body can speak against them, they are brought in under another route, the statuary instrument, which is why we have over 3000 new laws in this country thanks to this Labour government.

Now we learn that even more offences are to be dealt with by issuing a fixed penalty notice under the guise that it will free up the courts and reduce the mountains of paperwork.

Baloney. It now means that the police will say Oh it is illegal to smoke cannabis but if you give us £80 that will be ok. They could also add to the victim as he shells out the cash, look on the upside, you won't have a conviction for a drug offense so you will still be able to visit the USA. So that's alright then.

With virtually no traffic police left, it is all done by cameras, our roads are becoming more dangerous. The streets are now patrolled by the lowly Community Officers.

We are gradually turning our police force into tax collectors. Come back Robin Hood all is forgiven.

Not Content with Destroying the Lebanon Israel is out to get Iran.

Well well it has come as no surprise that this report from the Sunday Times (read below) that Israel is training its pilots to bomb Iran. Not just ordinary bombs but they want to test their nuclear ones at the same time.

Ah well what can you expect from a country that blatantly steals land from the Palestinians, attacks Iraq, sends a force into an African country, kidnaps a person from France and these are only the ones we have definite proof about. God and security services knows what else has gone on. If you believe some of the conspiracy theorists, they even killed Princess Diana because she was about to take up the Palestinian cause.

What you can be sure of is that the rest of the major powers will be looking the other way when it happens. America won't care because it would be in their interest to have Irans nuclear capability destroyed, most of the Arab world will possibly go along because it would mean that Iran would no longer have an edge over them.

So what could be the end result? Well the well protected politicians don't have to worry but for the average Joe in the street it will mean that they are going to be the victims of a savage terrorist backlash. A plane, train, bus or building will go up in flames and the public will once again bear the brunt of a callous governments cavalier attitude to foreign policy. Thanks Guys.

From The Sunday Times

Israel Plans Nuclear Strike on Iran

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

The attack would be the first with nuclear weapons since 1945, when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Israeli weapons would each have a force equivalent to one-fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb.

Under the plans, conventional laser-guided bombs would open “tunnels” into the targets. “Mini-nukes” would then immediately be fired into a plant at Natanz, exploding deep underground to reduce the risk of radioactive fallout.

“As soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished,” said one of the sources.

The plans, disclosed to The Sunday Times last week, have been prompted in part by the Israeli intelligence service Mossad’s assessment that Iran is on the verge of producing enough enriched uranium to make nuclear weapons within two years.

Israeli military commanders believe conventional strikes may no longer be enough to annihilate increasingly well-defended enrichment facilities. Several have been built beneath at least 70ft of concrete and rock. However, the nuclear-tipped bunker-busters would be used only if a conventional attack was ruled out and if the United States declined to intervene, senior sources said.

Israeli and American officials have met several times to consider military action. Military analysts said the disclosure of the plans could be intended to put pressure on Tehran to halt enrichment, cajole America into action or soften up world opinion in advance of an Israeli attack.

Some analysts warned that Iranian retaliation for such a strike could range from disruption of oil supplies to the West to terrorist attacks against Jewish targets around the world.

Israel has identified three prime targets south of Tehran which are believed to be involved in Iran’s nuclear programme:

*Natanz, where thousands of centrifuges are being installed for uranium enrichment

*A uranium conversion facility near Isfahan where, according to a statement by an Iranian vice-president last week, 250 tons of gas for the enrichment process have been stored in tunnels

*A heavy water reactor at Arak, which may in future produce enough plutonium for a bomb

Israeli officials believe that destroying all three sites would delay Iran’s nuclear programme indefinitely and prevent them from having to live in fear of a “second Holocaust”.

The Israeli government has warned repeatedly that it will never allow nuclear weapons to be made in Iran, whose president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has declared that “Israel must be wiped off the map”.
Robert Gates, the new US defence secretary, has described military action against Iran as a “last resort”, leading Israeli officials to conclude that it will be left to them to strike. Israeli pilots have flown to Gibraltar in recent weeks to train for the 2,000-mile round trip to the Iranian targets. Three possible routes have been mapped out, including one over Turkey.

Air force squadrons based at Hatzerim in the Negev desert and Tel Nof, south of Tel Aviv, have trained to use Israel’s tactical nuclear weapons on the mission. The preparations have been overseen by Major General Eliezer Shkedi, commander of the Israeli air force.

Sources close to the Pentagon said the United States was highly unlikely to give approval for tactical nuclear weapons to be used. One source said Israel would have to seek approval “after the event”, as it did when it crippled Iraq’s nuclear reactor at Osirak with air strikes in 1981.

Scientists have calculated that although contamination from the bunker-busters could be limited, tons of radioactive uranium compounds would be released.

The Israelis believe that Iran’s retaliation would be constrained by fear of a second strike if it were to launch its Shehab-3 ballistic missiles at Israel.

However, American experts warned of repercussions, including widespread protests that could destabilise parts of the Islamic world friendly to the West.

Colonel Sam Gardiner, a Pentagon adviser, said Iran could try to close the Strait of Hormuz, the route for 20% of the world’s oil.

Some sources in Washington said they doubted if Israel would have the nerve to attack Iran. However, Dr Ephraim Sneh, the deputy Israeli defence minister, said last month: “The time is approaching when Israel and the international community will have to decide whether to take military action against Iran.”

Global warming now relevant because you can tax it.

Well well, despite scientists warnings for many a long year, Kyoto and a general strangeness in the weather conditions around the world, Tony Blair and his cohorts have only been paying lipservice to the problem. A careful balancing act between keeping the 'Greens' quiet without offending big business. Now it seems they have the Stern Report which for some reason has become the most important document in the history of climate change. Why is it so important you may ask? Are there new and startling facts that have been uncovered for the first time? No it has just come up with a jolly good wheeze that will allow the Government to tax us all in a new way that is meant to be socially acceptable. How can you argue against a new tax that is going to save the planet? It will come as no surprise that this report was commissioned, not by any scientific or environmental government agency but by the Treasury. Enough said!

It may be that Gordon Brown is gathering some 'street cred' for when he is crowned Prime Minister of England.

The media took it like a lapdog begs for scraps from its master, rarely questioning the fact that this material has been around for ages and all started to aggree that there must be more taxes to stop our planet from disaster. They rolled out their favourite 'green' spokesman or woman who cooed away that the only way is to tax to stop the planet from being polluted. Softening up the populace for when the big tax crunch comes.

What they really mean is that poor people are not allowed to pollute the planet because they are the ones that are going to be hit the most. The rich will carry on doing what they do because they can afford it. It may be that they put off re-modelling their kitchen for six months but it really won't affect them all that much.

Pensioners and those on a fixed income will be the ones that will be hit and hit hard, not those politicians who always vote themselves large pay rises and run up a huge expenses bill. Oh more tax on fuel, never mind just put it on the expenses for running the office, good job I am working from home! Put up the price of airline tickets, never mind, thay can go off on a fact finding mission to Australia and charge it up to expenses.

That the planet is in a bad way is not in contention, but we are talking about a planet, you know that huge orb spinning around the sun and anything to do with saving it has to be tackled on a global basis, with the largest polluters doing the most to clean up their act.

We do need to do something but we shouldn't run around feeling guilty that we left our tvs on standby. Government owned offices and business that leave their computers on all the time are incredibly wastefull. It would be good to see them lead by example.

Traffic police don't know the law and don't seem to care

How amazing, an Inspector of Traffic police who said he had been in the traffic police for over 15 years and risen through the ranks from constable was quizzed on the BBC Radio 2 programme Jeremy Vine. He was asked if a driver was doing 70 MPH (the legal speed limit) in lane 3 (the fast lane) of a motorway with a line of traffic following closely, was he breaking the law? This imbecile said no. It is no wonder that there are so many accidents.

The answer is YES. If he is not overtaking traffic he should be driving on the left hand side of the road, as stated in the Highway Code, unless he is overtaking.

If he is travelling in lane 3 and not overtaking with a line of cars behind him, he should be convicted of driving without consideration to other road users, driving without due care and attention and if he decides to slap his brakes on, dangerous driving. This should also apply to those who dawdle along in lane 2 not overtaking anything.

It was stated that the overhead illuminated message system on motorways were to carry information that drivers should keep to lane 1 unless overtaking, but I have never seen this happen.

If anything can cause accidents it is these people who either do not use their mirrors or are totally oblivious to the road conditions and traffic around them, alas, there are no cameras to issue fixed penalty notices for them, only for those that go 5 MPH over the speed limit.

Whilst we have such ignorant Traffic Police, there will be many more accidents that will continually blamed on speeding motorists.

Blogdublanc

Blogdublanc

Latest Lebanon outrage starts new blog

As another outrage happens in South Lebanon where over 30 children are killed I have come out to decry the digusting tactics by the Israelis and the weasel words of Blair and Bush. They are told to leave the area but get attacked when they do, it is almost like the Israelis want a bit of sport with moving targets rather than the static bombarments they do constantly.

Time, I think, for the people to get out on the streets to show the politicians that we do not like this behaviour nor their tacit approval of it.
